Yet honey on the shelves has become very rare, and few of us have ever had the unique pleasure of biting into white wax cells and smelling the virgin honey escaping in our mouths, triggering an explosion of flavors.
Comb honey is an exceptional product, as it undergoes no processing whatsoever, and the beekeeper's intervention is virtually non-existent.It retains all its flavor and nutritional qualities.
To produce 1 kg of wax, the bee must consume 10 kg of honey and 1 kg of pollen. This makes it a rare and hard-to-find product.
Honeycomb contains propolis, whose extraordinary properties (antiseptic, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, healing...) are well known to all. In fact, bees cover their wax cappings with a layer of propolis to protect the honey.
The wax itself is good for the skin, intestinal transit, hair and nails.
Honey on the shelf can be eaten like candy, crunching or melting in the mouth. It can also be spread with a little butter. The wax can be discarded, or eaten to enjoy its benefits.
